OVERVIEW |
|
This one-day course starts with safety
aspects and then guides the audience through all clinically relevant
aspects of postoperative imaging of the musculoskeletal system,
including a discussion of imaging protocols, normal postoperative MR
appearance, as well as imaging of postoperative complications.
Radiologists with extensive experience in imaging of the
musculoskeletal system including the spine represent the majority of
the faculty; scientists provide relevant physical aspects.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES |
Upon completion of this course
participants should be able to:
- Inform patients and referring
physicians with regard to safety and possible limitations of
image quality after MSK surgery;
- Tailor MR protocols according to
clinical needs;
- Reduce imaging artifacts;
- Describe imaging artifacts and
differentiate them from relevant findings; and
- Recognize postoperative findings
such as scarring, particle disease and distortion and to
differentiate them from clinically relevant findings
