Cutting-Edge
Cardiovascular MR: From Small Animal Models to State-of-the-Art
Imaging in Patients |
ORGANIZERS: Tim Leiner,
M.D., Ph.D., Thoralf Niendorf, Ph.D., David E. Sosnovik, M.D. &
Matthias Stuber, Ph.D. |
|
SKILL LEVEL: Advanced |
|
|
OVERVIEW |
This four-hour
course will review state-of-the-art topics in cardiovascular MRI.
Topics to be covered will be: |
|
Options for CMR in small animals; |
|
Coronary MRI; Probing cardiac metabolism; and |
|
Cardiovascular MR in vasculopathic patients. |
|
Content will
include acquisition strategies, post-processing of data and clinical
background regarding the use of these MR techniques. The course
instructors will be both PhD’s and MD’s. |
|
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES |
Upon completion
of this course participants should be able to: |
|
Describe options for CMR in small animals; |
|
Explain the current status of coronary MR, including
vessel wall imaging; |
|
Study myocardial metabolism with CMR; and |
|
Describe the role of CMR in assessment in
vasculopathic patients. |
|
|
AUDIENCE
DESCRIPTION |
The
course is designed for experienced users of MR, with a basic
knowledge of cardiovascular MR. The content of the course is
appropriate for radiologists, cardiologists and basic
researchers interested in cardiovascular imaging in academic
and public service. |
