WEEKDAY EDUCATIONAL COURSE
Cardiovascular MR Imaging: Pushing the Limits in a Changing World
Part 1: MRI of Cardiac Microstructure (Tuesday)
Part 2: Ultra-High CV MR at 7T (Wednesday)
Part 3: Case-Based Studies in CMR (Thursday)
ORGANIZERS: Tim Leiner, M.D., Ph.D., Thoralf Niendorf, Ph.D. & David E. Sosnovik, M.D.

SKILL LEVEL: Advanced
Tuesday, 8 May 2012
Wednesday, 9 May 2012
Thursday, 10 May 2012

OVERVIEW
This six-hour course over three days will review two cutting-edge topics in cardiovascular MRI and also offers a case-reading session.
The Tuesday session will cover the latest developments in MRI of cardiac microstructure, including pulse sequences, post-processing and the clinical value;
The Wednesday session will be devoted to ultra-high field cardiovascular MR at 7T. Clinical opportunities are discussed as well as RF and coil technology, and emerging applications. Content will include acquisition strategies, post-processing of data and clinical background regarding the use of these MR techniques. Course instructors are PhD’s and MD’s; and
The Thursday session will be devoted to case-based studies in CMR and is primarily geared towards a physician audience. Instructors this day are MD’s.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
Describe the latest developments in MR of cardiac microstructure;
Explain the current status, challenges and opportunities of 7T cardiovascular imaging; and
Optimally interpret cardiovascular MR exams by reviewing case studies.

AUDIENCE DESCRIPTION
The course is designed for experienced users of MR, with a basic knowledge of cardiovascular MR. The content of the course is appropriate for radiologists, cardiologists, and basic researchers interested in cardiovascular imaging in academic and public service.
