OVERVIEW
This two-hour session will provide an overview of comparative effectiveness research (CER) in radiology, with a focus on MRI. Speakers will include radiologists who are experts in health policy and health services research. CER will be defined from an imaging standpoint, and the influence of imaging-related CER upon health policy will be discussed from an international perspective.
 
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
Define comparative effectiveness research (CER) as it applies to imaging;
Identify research activities – particularly those relevant to MRI – that fall under the CER umbrella;
Describe the potential impact of CER upon health policy decisions; and
Explain the value of imaging-related CER from a global perspective.
 
AUDIENCE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for practicing radiologists interested in CER and its relevance to health policy, and other health services researchers with a focus in imaging.
