ISMRM/SMRT Joint Forum: Parametric Mapping of Cartilage |
ORGANIZERS: Garry E. Gold, M.D.
& Michael D. Macilquham, B.App.Sc., M.H.Sc. (MRI) |
|
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate-Advanced |
Monday, 7 May 2012 |
|
OVERVIEW |
This course is a
joint collaboration between the ISMRM and SMRT, and is designed to
showcase the unique contribution each society brings to the clinical
field of magnetic resonance. The 2012 Joint Forum aims to begin the
process of helping establish clear guidelines for the use of
cartilage mapping techniques in the clinical arena.
The Joint Forum is a two-hour course that includes contributions
from MD's, scientists, technologists/radiographers and clinicians
working in the field of magnetic resonance. The overall goal of this
session is to begin dialog to help produce clinical guidelines for
the use of this method in the clinic. The format will include
presentations, point-counterpoint discussion, and debate from the
panel and the floor. |
|
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES |
Upon completion
of this course participants should be able to: |
|
Describe methods for the structural imaging of
cartilage using magnetic resonance techniques; |
|
Define the differences between cartilage mapping
techniques; and |
|
Determine the best approach for cartilage mapping in
clinical situations. |
|
|
AUDIENCE
DESCRIPTION |
This
course is designed for radiologists, clinicians,
technologists, radiographers and scientists working in the
musculoskeletal imaging fields of MR. It has relevance for
those working in both the clinical and research arena, and
is particularly relevant for those performing (or looking to
perform) parametric mapping of cartilage. |
