WEEKDAY EDUCATIONAL COURSE
CLINICAL INTENSIVE COURSE
Peripheral Nerve Imaging – Case-Based Teaching
ORGANIZERS: Christine Chung, M.D. & Hollis G. Potter, M.D

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate-Advanced
Tuesday, 8 May 2012

OVERVIEW
This interactive two-hour course will utilize an audience response system. The focus will be on imaging peripheral nerves with MRI, with lectures addressing how to recognize and potentially resolve abnormalities of peripheral nerves. The cases will be discussed in a unique and interactive way to encourage audience participation towards understanding the physics behind the imaging, their clinical significance and potential remedies.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
Recognize peripheral nerves on routine MRI scans;
Recognize injury and entrapment related imaging appearances of peripheral neuropathy;
Describe how to perform MRI of the brachial plexus; and
Describe the anatomy of the peripheral nerves.

AUDIENCE DESCRIPTION
These courses are aimed at radiologists, MR technologists and clinical support scientists who wish to incorporate the use of MRI into their practice and to know how evolving MRI techniques can aid in clinical problem-solving in the musculoskeletal system and impact individualized patient care.
