WEEKDAY EDUCATIONAL COURSE
CLINICAL INTENSIVE COURSE
Oncologic Body Imaging
ORGANIZERS: Shahid M. Hussain, M.D., Caroline Reinhold, M.D. & Evis Sala, M.D., Ph.D., F.R.C.R.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate-Advanced
Tuesday, 8 May 2012

OVERVIEW
This 1½-course will focus on current/traditional (morphology-based) MR techniques as well as novel functional methods for evaluation of tumor response to treatment. Specific lectures will address in detail:
How to currently utilize CT and MRI to assess treatment response in clinical setting; and
The added value of diffusion and perfusion MRI in evaluation of treatment response.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course participants should be able to:
Describe and compare the current use CT and MRI methods in evaluation of tumor response to treatment, and recognize the pitfalls of morphological imaging; and
Explain the added value of functional MRI methods such as diffusion weighted imaging and dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging in evaluation of treatment response.

AUDIENCE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for radiologists, MR technologists and clinical support scientists who wish to improve the use of MRI in their practice, and understand how evolving MRI techniques can aid in clinical problem solving in the body with impact individualized patient care.
