OVERVIEW |
This two-hour course will review
optimal imaging techniques for evaluating diseases of the female
pelvis, including perfusion, diffusion-weighted imaging,
susceptibility-weighted imaging, and fat-water separation
techniques. An algorithmic approach to adnexal mass characterization
will be provided. The role of MR imaging in the staging and
follow-up in patients with endometrial and cervical carcinoma will
be discussed. |
|
TARGET AUDIENCE |
This course is aimed at
radiologists, imaging scientists and MR technologists who wish to
review the state-of-art for evaluating diseases of the female
pelvis, and to learn ways of optimizing MR imaging techniques for
these indications. |
|
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course,
participants should be able to: |
- Implement optimal imaging
techniques for evaluating disease of the female pelvis;
- Describe the added value
of MRI in adnexal mass characterization; and
- Identify the added value
of MRI in the management of patients with cervical and
endometrial carcinoma.
