OVERVIEW
This course is designed to introduce the clinical needs for some of the more common imaging scenarios to physicists. Physicians will discuss why they use different scans (T1W vs. T2W, axial vs. sagittal) to obtain specific particular information. They will illustrate out what is important clinically, and where there is the most room for improvement in diagnoses using MRI.
 
TARGET AUDIENCE
Engineers and Scientists who want a better understanding of the end-use of what they produce, and guidance on how they can make the most impact from there research.
 
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:
  • Identify the targeted diagnostic value of each sequence in a particular exam, and explain the reason for choice of image contrast and geometry; and
  • Enumerate the most substantial diagnostic challenges for various patient histories.
