OVERVIEW
Multiple sclerosis is one of the commonest disabling neurologic conditions world-wide. Although the basic MRI findings are already well described, advanced techniques are shedding new light into the pathophysiology, anatomic substrates, treatment, and follow-up for patients with brain and spinal cord demyelinating diseases.
 
TARGET AUDIENCE
Neurologists, scientists, neuroradiologists, and physicists who need to know how to employ advanced MRI to better understand and treat multiple sclerosis.
 
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

As a result of attending this course, participants should be able to:
  • Assess quantitative MR methods in white matter injury;
  • Illustrate grey matter injury patterns in MS using MRI;
  • Improve or adapt MR protocols to identify demyelinating spinal cord lesions; and
  • Appraise the role of ultra-high field MRI in MS.
