I have been a MR technologist since 1986, and passed the first MRI registry in the USA in 1995. I have worked as an educator for the last 15 years and taught as an adjunct professor in MR programs. Becoming a member of the SMRT in 2002, I’ve served in various roles including committee chairs, and participated in annual meetings since 2005. As a member of the Policy Board and in key executive roles (Secretary, President) I have endeavored to advocate for MRI technologists and the SMRT in every avenue of the healthcare industry with a slant toward MRI Safety. Currently my role is Chair of the SMRT Safety Committee, and am active on the RECEEM, Home Study and both ISMRM and SMRT Education Committees.. I’ve done many lectures and presentations for the SMRT, ISMRM as well as other organizations and conferences over the last 15 years. MR is my day job, but also my passion. The SMRT has given me an amazing outlet to purse that passion and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to serve.
