EDUCATION COMMITTEE REPORT: MENTORING & MORE

Rosemary Fisher, R.T.(R)(CT)(MR)
Chair, 2012-2013 Education Committee

“The Call for Papers IS NOW OPEN! The submission deadline is 17 December 2012.”
We work hard every day to keep our profession moving forward and improving MRI for our patients. Whether you are working in research or clinical setting, the SMRT Annual Meeting is a venue to share and promote what is going on at your site with your peers from around the world. There are two ways you can do this – an oral or poster presentation.

Radiographers / Technologists who are actively working in MRI and actually conducting the work are eligible. You can find information on how to write an abstract as well as examples for reference on the SMRT website under the Mentorship Program.

The John A. Koveleski Award for Professional Development is another exciting opportunity exclusively for MRI students, graduate students or radiographers/technologists who have been practicing for less than 3 years. As a former president of the SMRT, John was instrumental in the professional development of many who were new to MRI. This award was established in his honor and has been presented for the past 2 years. The abstract guidelines are similar and we look forward to the submissions from the “up and comers”.

The Call for Papers IS NOW OPEN! The submission deadline is 17 December 2012. The submissions must be original work and have not been previously published or presented. I challenge you to share your best ideas and discoveries and learn from fellow MRI practitioners from around the world.
